
Carlos Pazos
Carlos Pazos focuses his practice on civil litigation in state court in the area of insurance defense. Prior to joining Bush Ross, he defended premises owners and medical providers in premises liability and medical malpractice actions in state and federal court. Carlos also served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 13th Judicial Circuit, where he handled multiple high profile media cases as a prosecutor and gained extensive trial experience in matters ranging from misdemeanors to capital crimes. During his six years with the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Pazos tried more than 130 cases, including both jury and non-jury trials, and held the role of Lead Trial Attorney. He was also appointed by the governor for an executive assignment in the 12th Judicial Circuit.
While in law school, Mr. Pazos clerked at a multistate medical malpractice plaintiff’s firm, a business litigation firm, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office - White Collar Crime Division. He also served as President of the Florida Law Student’s Association.
Professional & Community Affiliations
Mr. Pazos was a longtime member of the Rough Riders, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the legacy of President Theodore Roosevelt while supporting charitable initiatives throughout the community. He is currently a member of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago, a nonprofit group that celebrates Tampa’s Hispanic heritage and contributes to numerous charitable causes.
In addition, Carlos is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
